Over the last few months, myself and my MAPgroup colleagues have been photographing the creative community of Castlemaine in rural Victoria. The resulting exhibition, Beyond the studio, consists of over 90 documentary portraits, which are currently displayed on the walls of the town, presented as large scale, black and white paste ups. The project is part of Open Studios, a component of the Castlemaine State Festival. It’s been a real pleasure to meet and photograph some very talented artists.
Beyond the studio is showing until 31 March at Mechanics Lane, Bendigo Bank, Frederick Street including the Town Hall, The Mill and Lot 19, all in Castlemaine.
